Home-made bomb unleashed on West Side property

YOUNGSTOWN — Fire investigators are searching for the individual who detonated a home-made bomb on a West Side property Thursday evening.

A neighbor reported hearing the apparatus explode and catch fire in a yard on Bouquet Avenue, according to fire department documents. The “bomb” was made of a one-gallon can of mineral spirits, a five gallon bucket and two aerosol cans, reports said.

Neither property was damaged in the explosion. A search for witnesses yielded no suspects, according to reports.
