Kiwanis International holds 92nd convention

SAN ANTONIO — Western Mahoning County Kiwanis Club was represented by member Barbara Smith at the 92nd annual International Kiwanis Convention held in San Antonio.

Smith joined more than 3,000 other voting delegates at the event, where she attended several workshops including photography and Kiwanis One Day.

David Curry of Montana was named president for 2007-2008, and 17 amendments and one resolution were addressed. The World Service Medal was awarded Karen Scheeringa, founder of Hearts in Motion, which provides medical teams for children in need around the world.

Speakers included Brendon Burchard, author of “Life’s Golden Ticket,” Randy Snow of Fortune 500 and LaDonna Gatlin.
