New Middletown seeks parade participants


NEW MIDDLETOWN — The village’s annual National Night Out and Community Day is set for Aug. 7. Police Chief William Morvay said the parade will line up at 6 p.m. at Springfield High School on state Route 170 and begin at 6:30.

It will proceed to St. Paul the Apostle Church, also on state Route 170. A celebration will follow from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Welker Park located behind the village municipal building on state Route 170 with food, music, a cookout, K-9 demonstration and much more. Fireworks will follow at 10 p.m. at the high school.

Donations are being accepted at the municipal building for the fireworks display. Morvay said anyone wanting to be in the parade should call the police department at (330) 542-2846. ok
