Tom-Tom creates a sound for Youngstown

WARREN — Tom-Tom aims to put the Mahoning Valley on the musical map while maintaining creative control of its work with the release of a CD, “The Killing Fields.”

“It’s very important for artists to have the rights to their own music,” said Thomas Day, who is one-half of the duo. “That’s why many artists are going the indie route.”

Day and Dave Robinson comprise the group, which melds gospel, hip-hop, sexy R&B, neo-soul and rock into what can be termed “The Youngstown Sound.”
