State patrol promotions announced


SOUTHINGTON — Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Michael A. Harmon has been promoted to lieutenant and will transfer to the Ashtabula post to serve as post commander. Harmon, of West Farmington, was named post trooper of the year in 1994, 1996, 1997 and 2000 and earned district trooper of the year in 1994 and 2000.

Trooper Charles F. Mendenhall of the Highway Patrol’s Ravenna post has been promoted to sergeant and will transfer to the Southington post as assistant post commander. Sgt. Mendenhall, of Leavittsburg, was post trooper of the year in 2004.

The promotions were made by Col. Richard H. Collins, OSHP superintendent.
