July 3
Theft: The Ohio State Highway Patrol turned over to Boardman authorities a 21-year-old New Waterford man wanted on a felony warrant from the township charging him with theft. He was accused of taking about $2,000 worth of model parts from Hobby Town USA, 105 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft by deception: Someone tried to pass a fraudulent $100 bill at Michael’s Arts & Crafts, 365 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A Boardman man reported the theft of his $140 bicycle while at the Golden Corral, 320 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: An employee at Window World, 8070 Southern Blvd., discovered a stolen deposit.
Theft: A woman reported her wallet stolen while at Smokey Bones Barbecue and Grill, 6651 South Ave.
Bad check: A bad check was passed at Party Max, 445 Boardman-Poland Road, to pay for $216 worth of merchandise.
Theft/criminal damaging: A worker for Taylor Kia of Boardman, 7975 Market St., told police four 17-inch chrome tires/rims valued at $2,000 were stolen off a vehicle; another car sustained damage when it fell onto two panels.
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 1300 block of Red Tail Hawk Drive found out a key was used to damage her vehicle’s passenger side.
Arrest: An 18-year-old Hitchcock Road man was picked up at his home on charges of obstructing official business, resisting arrest, underage consumption of alcohol and driving under suspension.
Theft: A Youngstown boy, 14, was charged after a $13 pair of shorts was taken from Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road.
July 4
Theft: A customer stole $36 worth of groceries from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: A Cedar Way woman found shattered glass on a table top that was part of her lawn furniture.
Theft: A purse was removed from a vehicle in the 800 block of Fairfield Drive.
Theft: A woman in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard discovered the theft of a $200 compact-disc player and 30 CDs from her car.
Criminal damaging: A Southern Boulevard girl called police after someone broke a window on her rear door, causing $100 worth of damage.
July 5
Assault: A South Avenue woman alleged her boyfriend assaulted her. The accuser had slight redness near her left cheek.
Theft: Roughly $200 worth of women’s clothing was stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Truck theft: A 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck was stolen from Saturn of Boardman, 7554 Market St.
Auto theft: A Boardman man, 20, faced a felony count of receiving stolen property after officers got a report of a stolen vehicle in the 50 block of Willow Drive.
Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown man reported his credit card missing while at a Get Go gas station, 6911 South Ave.
Damage: A Tamarisk Trail man told police that fireworks landed on and damaged his roof, driveway and yard.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Carnation Tours, 5614 South Ave., through a side window, though nothing seemed to be missing.
Criminal trespassing: After receiving a report of someone driving in an unauthorized section of Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, authorities arrested a 77-year-old Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, man on a criminal trespassing charge. The man became belligerent and refused to leave despite having been asked several times, police said.
Theft: After being pulled over on South Avenue for speeding, a 36-year-old Boardman man was taken into custody on a warrant from Struthers charging him with failing to appear to answer one count of theft.
Counterfeit: A worker at a Shell gas station, 950 Boardman-Poland Road, found a phony $10 bill in a cash register.
Theft: A car at the Southern Park Mall had its Pennsylvania license plate removed.
Attempted burglary/criminal damaging: Police responded to a fight in the 100 block of Shields Road, where a woman said she became confused and accidentally climbed into the wrong apartment after locking herself out of hers. She also reported another resident tossed a bottle, breaking a window to her home.
July 6
Burglary: A Southern Boulevard woman noticed a camera bag and other related accessories missing from her home, though police found no signs of forced entry.
Forgery: An employee with Career Advantage of Mahoning Valley, 5600 Market St., found out 16 payroll checks totaling about $7,770 were duplicated and cashed.
Theft: Police arrested a 44-year-old Diamond woman on a theft charge after a $44 pair of sunglasses was stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A 14-year-old girl and a woman, 21, both of Columbiana, faced theft charges. The two were accused of taking $71 worth of clothing from Value City Department Store.
Counterfeit: A fake $50 bill was passed at Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.
Possible forgery: A worker with Cortland Banks, 6538 South Ave., became suspicious of, and failed to honor, a $1,592.64 check someone presented.
Arrest: A traffic stop near Midlothian Boulevard and Windsor Road led to a 20-year-old Poland man’s arrest after police said they found a 24-pack of beer in his car. He was charged with underage possession of alcohol.
July 7
Theft: A Warren man, 46, was charged after a $16 pair of jeans was stolen from Dot’s Inc., 255 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: Three Canfield girls, two age 13 and one 14, faced theft charges after three tote bags were taken from Spencer Gifts in the Southern Park Mall.
Breaking and entering: Someone used a rock to break a front window at Express Stop Center, 7100 Lockwood Blvd. Several drawers were tossed to the ground, and an undisclosed amount of money was missing.
Theft: A woman’s $350 mountain bike was stolen from her residence in the 100 block of Brainard Drive.
Assault/criminal damaging: A Struthers man told officers that 10 juveniles assaulted him and damaged his vehicle while he was at a Mathews Road residence. He had a black left eye and swelling; his car sustained a broken rear windshield.
Theft: A worker for a Dayton tree service company discovered three chainsaws missing from a work truck in the 6400 block of Southern Boulevard.
July 8
Auto theft: After locating in Youngstown a Crown Victoria stolen from a Boardman man, police charged an 18-year-old Detroit man with two felony counts of receiving stolen property. Also recovered were tools valued at more than $4,000.
Criminal mischief: A man in the 700 block of Orlo Lane discovered his vehicle had been ransacked.
Theft: A man in the 700 block of Annawan Lane told authorities his car had been entered. Stolen was a $275 stereo faceplate.
Theft: Two people at Alltel, 474 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported their cars had been entered, and a paintball gun, an iPod, a CD player and a car stereo were taken.
Drug paraphernalia: While responding to a possible drug overdose at a Boardman-Canfield Road apartment, police found a charred spoon and other suspected drug paraphernalia.
Theft: Two Youngstown boys, 13 and 14, were charged with theft and criminal trespassing after a Clifton Drive woman reported two people were in her van and that her wallet was missing.
Theft: A woman’s cellular phone was stolen while she was at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Theft: A Canterbury Lane woman discovered two packs of cigarettes, her purse and small items stolen from her car.
Theft: A motorist pumped and failed to pay for $35.32 worth of gasoline before leaving a BP station, 1090 Boardman-Poland Road.
