Warren man is arrested in assault

WARREN — Warren police arrested Antonio Burgess on Saturday morning, after he was accused of throwing a glass bottle injuring a woman at 2545 Jackson St. NW.

According to the report, officers had told him numerous times to leave the residence, and he refused.

Burgess was yelling and taunting people to fight with him, according to the report. Burgess was among 20-25 people fighting among one another, and officers had previously been at the residence because of a complaint about loud music.

The home’s listed resident was issued a summons for the noise violation. Parking citations also were given out. The report said about 150 people were on the street, sidewalk and front lawn.

Police said they observed Burgess using profane language as he continuously tried to start a fight. The glass bottle hit a female in the head and caused her to bleed. They said he also picked up a broom and started hitting people with it.

According to the report, police pepper-sprayed Burgess and he still assaulted people. Burgess led police on a chase around the residence and after three times of entering and exiting the residence, police were able to stop him and arrest him.

As Burgess was being transported to the Trumbull County Jail, he told police he did not care that he was being arrested and was going to pay the bail and return to the residence and continue to fight.
