South Range DeChellis Dental 8, West Branch 7 — South Range scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to advance to the league championship game. Steve Bensinger homered and scored three times for South Range, while winning pitcher Codey Deal and Chris Gause each had two hits. Josh Antil and Adam Dunlap both hit homers for West Branch. South Range DeChellis Dental will play Girard Merchants tonight at 6 at Boardman’s Fields of Dreams for the league championship.
Girard Merchants 12, Hubbard Midland Title 5 — Girard had 13 hits, including a grand slam by Larry Goist. R.J. Trimbur went 4-for-4 with a double and two home runs. Joe Augustine, Joe Tait and Jake Detec pitched for Girard, giving up eight hits and striking out nine. Tom Jones went 3-for-3 with a home run to lead Hubbard.
