Dr. Moonda's family keeps his memory alive

POLAND — The nephew of slain Dr. Gulam Moonda held a press conference at his home Monday to announce the creation of trust fund in his late uncle’s honor. The annoucement followed the July 6 murder conviction of Moonda’s widow Donna.

His nephew and adopted son Faroq Moonda said he and his wife Afreen plan to estabish the fund to honor the life and accomplishments of Gulam Moonda. Faroq Moonda said he was pleased with the conviction, but focused comments on the charitable effort and shared pictures of Dr. Moonda in happy times.

“I feel as though we can now focus on his wonderful and fulfilling life, instead of his tragic death,” he said. “He was an amazing human being who helped thousands of people in his country and India.”
