Boardman has tried for years to get repairs done to the apartment building at 4250 Hillman Way, situated near the historic district. A chronology of events:

April 2004: A quit claim deed indicates property ownership transferred from William Busch to Donald Snipes.

2005: Township issues property maintenance code violations for the building because of high weeds and doors and windows in disrepair.

2005: Township works with a property management company that Busch hired to make necessary repairs.

2005: Mahoning County Probate Court orders the management company to stop spending Busch’s money, citing disputed property transfer.

May 2006: Township files lawsuit to get the property repaired and cleaned up.

July 2006: Busch dies, leaving no surviving relatives.

January 2007: Probate court rules quit claim deed void.

February 2007: Snipes appeals probate court ruling.

May 2007: Trust company boards up the building to protect the asset for the estate.
