Brady Bunch: Christopher Knight, who played Peter Brady on the Brady Bunch, will be appearing at Eastwood Field Monday, headlining Classic Television Night. Knight will throw out the first pitch before the Scrappers and Spinners series finale at 7:05 p.m.
Scoring machines: The Scrappers and the Spinners are the top scoring teams in the New York-Penn League this season. Lowell has scored 104 runs (6.1 per game) and Mahoning Valley has scored 91 (5.1 per game). The Spinners are hitting at a .343 clip in July and despite their 12-5 record have the second-worst ERA in the league at 4.93.
Among leaders: The Scrappers have three hitters among the top 10 in the New York-Penn League, led by infielder Jansy Infante (who did not start, but pinch hit Saturday) with a .364 average in fourth place. First baseman Todd Martin is hitting .350 in eighth and catcher-designated hitter Alex Castillo is 10th with a .347 mark. Martin leads the league in home runs with four and tied for second in RBIs with 16.
