HUBBARD
July 1
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 500 block of West Liberty Street told police someone placed a bottle under her car’s tires and that after running over it, her vehicle sustained damage.
Theft: A woman said her daughter stole items from the accuser’s Doris Drive residence.
July 2
Drugs: Police arrested a man at a Wendemere Drive residence on a drug charge after receiving a complaint.
July 3
Theft: Someone reported the theft of utilities when an electric meter at a home in the 200 block of Christian Avenue was found to have been tampered with.
July 4
Auto theft: A woman reported her vehicle stolen while at Michael’s Place, 862 N. Main St.
Theft: A motorist pumped and failed to pay for $25 worth of gasoline before leaving a Shell True North station, 204 W. Liberty St.
Theft: A Hubbard woman reported the theft of potted plants from her residence.
LIBERTY
July 1
Stolen property: Boardman police handed a 23-year-old Youngstown man over to Liberty authorities. He was wanted on a felony warrant from the township charging him with receiving stolen property.
Burglary: A Girard man, 38, wanted on a burglary charge in Niles was picked up at a home in the 3000 block of North Gate Road.
Aggravated menacing: Two people at a residence in the 3400 block of Hadley Avenue alleged a Youngstown man, 43, pointed a .25-caliber handgun at them; one person said the man threatened to shoot him.
Arrest: A 24-year-old Warren man was picked up at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave. He was wanted on a charge of failing to appear for a violation-of-protection hearing.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Youngstown man reported his 2002 Pontiac Grand Am was used without permission from a Mansell Drive home.
Drugs: After getting a call regarding an erratic driver on state Route 11, officers arrested a 40-year-old Youngstown man near Tibbetts-Wick Road. He was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments after police say a syringe was found in the car.
Counterfeit: Someone tried to buy gasoline from a Shell station, 3990 Belmont Ave., with a phony $20 bill.
July 2
Theft: A Youngstown man reported the theft of $1,200 from his room at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex on Motor Inn Drive.
Bad checks: A worker at One Stop Mart Drive Thru, 4495 Logan Way, reported cashing two personal checks totaling $850 that were later returned on closed accounts.
Theft: A Youngstown woman staying at the Liberty Inn, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, discovered a bank envelope containing $900 was missing from her room.
Auto theft: A Goleta Avenue woman told officers her 2000 Pontiac Firebird was removed without consent.
July 3
Misuse of a credit card: A Hadley Avenue woman noticed on her statement about $624 worth of suspicious charges from two businesses, none of which she had made.
Felonious assault: Police responded to an attempted stabbing near Belmont and Euclid avenues before arresting a 54-year-old Youngstown man during a traffic stop and charging him with felonious assault. The suspect’s wife alleged he used a screwdriver to try to stab her in the neck; she had two lacerations on the right side of her face.
July 4
Drugs: After responding to suspicious activity in the 1600 block of East Liberty Street, authorities arrested a 48-year-old Woodstock, Va., man wanted on a warrant charging him with probation violation. He also faced charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after police say they found a rock of suspected cocaine and a suspected crack pipe.
Arrest: While answering an assault report at a Hadley Avenue home, officers arrested a Youngstown man, 47, wanted on three traffic warrants. Additional charges of resisting arrest and criminal damaging were filed when, police say, he resisted and had to be subdued.
July 5
Domestic violence: Officers took into custody a 22-year-old woman at her Trumbull Court residence and charged her after the woman’s boyfriend alleged she choked him. The victim had redness on his neck and left shoulder, police said.
GIRARD
July 3
Criminal damaging: A Stull Avenue woman told authorities a co-worker informed her that someone apparently had tried to set her vehicle on fire. The woman later found her car’s gas cap had been removed, evidently when someone tried to place a firecracker in the tank.
July 4
Assault: A Youngstown woman alleged a Girard man, 29, used his body to push her against a wall during an argument at his Mosier Road residence. The woman had a minor injury.
July 5
Menacing: Workers with Blue Ribbon Rental Inc., 3620 Belmont Ave., reported a Patricia Drive man threatened to harm them when the employees went to the man’s home to retrieve property they say he stopped making payments on.
Menacing: A Steel Street woman told police a man who lives nearby came to her home and made a threatening hand gesture after she reported an illegal fire in a yard close by.
Criminal mischief: A West Liberty Street woman discovered a key was used to damage her car’s quarter panel area and trunk.
