June 28

Arrests: After receiving a call about three males hiding pellet guns under a shrub in the 1100 block of Doral Drive, police charged three Youngstown boys, 12, 13 and 14, and an Austintown boy, 16, with theft after saying that one of the teens admitted the group had stolen the merchandise from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road; also arrested was a 16-year-old Boardman boy on charges of receiving stolen property, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Seven items valued at a total of $176 were stolen from the store, an employee said.

Auto theft: A Youngstown man reported his 1985 Chevrolet Caprice missing from the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A Youngstown man reported the theft of a radio/cassette player and a binder with various personal papers from his car while in the 7000 block of Claybourne Avenue.

Theft: A West Western Reserve Road man told officers his cousin refused to give the accuser his $1,260 paycheck.

Theft: A $798 concrete metal saw and a gas can were stolen from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.

Auto theft: A 1998 Ford Ranger was missing from Saturn of Boardman, 7554 Market St.

Drugs/theft: Two 14-year-old Struthers girls were charged with theft after $343 worth of clothing was stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. One of the teens also faced charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia when, officers say, she had a pipe with a suspected marijuana cigarette.

Theft: A Rockdale Avenue man discovered six audio cassette tapes, 25 compact discs and a coin missing from his vehicle.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Stoney Creek Drive man reported his vehicle was broken into. Stolen were an AM-FM-CD player and two radar units, for a loss of $1,000.

Misuse of a credit card: Police, along with the U.S. Marshals Service, took a Niles man, 38, into custody near Market Street on charges of misuse of a credit card and obstructing official business. A Brainard Drive woman reported $2,059.75 worth of unauthorized withdrawals had been made.

Assault: Officers arrested a 29-year-old Boardman woman on an assault charge after a neighbor reported the woman pushed her backward down a flight of steps when she asked the suspect to turn her music down. The victim complained of cramps and bleeding.

Theft: A dealer license plate was missing from a vehicle at Spartan Auto Sales, 438 E. Western Reserve Road.

Theft: A woman reported a $300 satellite dish stolen from her car in the 100 block of Forest Garden Drive.

Arrests: While responding to a neighbor dispute in the 800 block of Moyer Avenue, authorities charged a 22-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. The man struggled with police and the woman had to be subdued when she tried to interfere with the arrest, officers said.

Theft: A Moyer Avenue man reported his $400 bicycle stolen.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Roche Way woman found dents and scratches on her vehicle before discovering a radar detector had been stolen.

Theft: Two Fredericksberg Drive residents reported the theft of a satellite radio and three credit cards.

Theft: A $150 pair of sunglasses and seat covers were removed from a car in the 100 block of Stoney Creek Drive.

Domestic violence: A Tippecanoe Road man, 47, was picked up on a warrant charging him with the crime after his wife alleged he kicked her during an argument. The woman was not hurt, though.

Arrest: Officers charged a 25-year-old woman with endangering children after someone reported a 6-year-old child had been left alone in a Moyer Avenue residence for an extended amount of time.

Drug paraphernalia: A 52-year-old man was arrested near his Brookfield Avenue home and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police say they found a suspected crack pipe during a traffic stop.

Bad check: A $257.63 check written at Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road, was returned on a closed account.

Misuse of a credit card: An Austintown man, 18, surrendered to police on a felony warrant charging him with the crime. He was accused of fraudulently using a customer’s credit card to buy five $100 gift cards at a Shell gas station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Arrest: A 35-year-old woman staying at the Boardman Inn, 7109 Market St., faced one count of child endangering after someone reported seeing an infant left unattended outside the motel.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Market Street revealed that a 21-year-old Boardman man was wanted on a warrant from Beaver Township authorities charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested.

Theft: Police arrested a 41-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after three pairs of shorts and a polo shirt were taken from Value City Department Store.

Criminal damaging: A man returned to his West Boulevard residence and discovered a fence had been damaged.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Milltrace Drive man said his niece kept his 1995 Mazda beyond an agreed-upon time for her to have brought it back.

Criminal damaging: A woman found a broken exterior door trim decoration at her residence in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue.

Burglary: Someone entered a Forest Garden Drive home through the garage before taking a set of golf clubs and a golf bag.

Theft/forgery: A worker for HLW Fast Track, 4900 Simon Road, reported receiving numerous checks from a payroll account that turned out to be counterfeit. The loss was close to $2,000.

Domestic violence: A 38-year-old Lockwood Boulevard man was arrested at his home and charged after a woman alleged her husband threatened her during an argument by referring to a recent murder/suicide.

Theft: A man in the 2000 block of Wolosyn Circle reported a bar tray, a drink shaker, a champagne bucket and a basket stolen.

Criminal mischief: Someone deliberately removed barricades near Master Park Martial Arts International, 224 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Two bottles of lotion were removed from Hair Depot, 4026 Market St.

Stolen property: A vehicle check near Market Street led to the arrest of a Youngstown man, 23, wanted on a felony warrant from Liberty charging him with receiving stolen property.

Theft: A Huntington Court woman reported numerous jewelry items stolen, including a wedding ring, an engagement ring and several pairs of earrings.

Arrest: While investigating a suspicious vehicle, officers took into custody a 16-year-old Boardman boy in the 5800 block of Southern Boulevard. He was charged with being an unruly juvenile, underage possession of tobacco and obstructing official business when, police say, he eluded them.

Misuse of a credit card: A 50-year-old Boardman man was picked up at his Willow Drive home and charged after a woman told authorities she loaned the man her automated teller machine card with the stipulation that he take out $25, but that he used it to make unauthorized purchases.

Theft: Police arrested a Berlin Center man, 40, on a warrant charging him with theft after an employee with Ultimate Protection Inc., 7301 West Blvd., told police he provided a fraudulent credit card to pay for services.

July 1

Domestic violence: After a neighbor reported hearing screams from an Old Oxford Lane residence, officers arrested a man, 26, and charged him with domestic violence. A woman alleged her boyfriend pushed her in the chest during an argument, causing her to fall backward.

Theft: An Indianola Road man reported a handgun, a leather vest, a holster and $50 stolen.

Domestic violence: Police arrested a 30-year-old township man on a warrant charging him with domestic violence. The man’s wife alleged he grabbed her by the arm and threatened to kill her and their infant.

Recovered property: Police found in the 4300 block of Market Street a temporary tag stolen off a Youngstown man’s car.

Criminal mischief: A Leighton Avenue woman reported some property was destroyed.

Burglary: A man in the 100 block of Erskine Avenue discovered someone entered his residence through a second-floor rear window before taking a gold chain, a digital camera and a video camera. The theft came to about $1,275.

Misuse of a credit card: A Masury woman contacted police after learning her stolen credit cards were used in the township.

Theft: Officers arrested a 21-year-old Lackawanna, N.Y., woman on a theft charge. She was accused of stealing a $15 ring from Value City Department Store.

Stolen property: A vehicle registration check on Doral Drive resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a felony warrant from Westerville, Ohio, charging him with receiving stolen property.

Breaking and entering: Someone tossed a concrete block through the front door at Slender You, 1449 Boardman-Canfield Road. An undisclosed amount of money was missing.
