Yamato Restaurant fire being investigated

WARREN — City firefighters are investigating the cause of a blaze that did extensive damage to the Yamato Japanese Restaurant, 3860 Youngstown Road S.E.

Firefighters were called to the restaurant around 11:47 p.m. Saturday and found the fire had started in the kitchen. The restaurant was closed at the time, firefighters said.

The fire spread into the ceiling, making it difficult to extinguish, and crews remained at the scene until about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. No damage estimate was immediately available.
