Romans observe 65th anniversary at dinner party



YOUNGSTOWN -- The 65th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Roman of Youngstown was celebrated at an intimate family dinner party held in their honor on Jan. 6 at the Boulevard Restaurant.
The former Viola Norman and Mr. Roman were united in marriage Jan. 17, 1942, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Roman was employed as an operator with Ohio Bell Telephone Co. prior to retiring in 1951.
Mr. Roman served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He and his wife owned and operated Roman Cycle Shop for 50 years and retired in 1998.
The couple's family includes three children and their spouses, Judy and Mark Matello of New Castle, Pa., Nancy Colla of Poland and Richard and Denise Roman of Austintown; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
