Colemans celebrate 50 years of marriage during reception
BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles Coleman of Boardman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a reception and dinner held Jan. 20 at Johnny's Restaurant.
Participating in the event were the couple's children and their spouses, Gary and Lynne Rosati of Boardman, Charles and Jodi Coleman of Hilliard, and David and Lori Carmendy of Powell; their 10 grandchildren.
The celebration began in September when the couple traveled to Hawaii with Mrs. Coleman's sister and brother-in-law, Don and Isabelle Wilson, and her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Splain.
The former Donna Mae Splain and Mr. Coleman were united in marriage Jan. 26, 1957, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
Mrs. Coleman graduated from Youngstown State University and from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, where she worked as an instructor. She also worked in sales and owned M-2000 Medical Sales prior to retiring in 2001.
Also a graduate of YSU, Mr. Coleman was a professional engineer and a vice president of A.P. O'Horo Co. and J.R. Soda Construction. He was also part-owner and president of Western Reserve Construction Co. before retiring in 2001.
The Colemans are active members of several duplicate bridge clubs and are both Silver Life Masters. They have been members of Boardman Tennis and Swim Club for 40 years.
