Doblanski leads Leopards in win



Rayen's girls lost to Mount de Chantal, 53-48.
LIBERTY -- Mychal Doblanski scored 20 points and Liberty outscored LaBrae 27-19 in the fourth quarter to rally for a 60-55 victory in a Trumbull Athletic Conference boys basketball game on Saturday.
Doblanski had eight points in the quarter, while Jason White added nine of his 13 over that stretch for the Leopards (10-3, 5-2). Ryan Gillum added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Leopards.
Mike Ryan scored 20 points and Eric Hart had 19 for LaBrae.
Girls
YOUNGSTOWN -- Rayen senior Brittany Taylor had 26 points, three rebounds, seven steals and two assists but the Tigers came up short against Wheeling (W.Va.) Mount de Chantal 53-48.
Senior Tieara Jones added 13 points, 12 rebounds, four steals, five assists and four blocks for Rayen (10-3) before fouling out. Jaleesa Beverly had 18 rebounds.
Rita Stefan had 23 points, three rebounds, two steals and three assists for Mount de Chantal (10-9). Emma Shalaway had 10 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Walsh Jesuit 58, Mooney 35
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mooney stayed close to Walsh Jesuit early in the game, but the state's No. 1-ranked team in Division II had too much firepower for the Cardinals.
Brianna Segerson and Amy Gardner each scored 13 points while Joanna Zaccari added 12 for Walsh Jesuit (16-0). The Warriors enjoyed a 21-14 goal advantage and had a 13-for-16 night at the foul line, to open a 26-17 halftime lead and take a 40-25 lead into the final period.
The best that Mooney (11-4) could muster were seven points each from Katie Hughes, Dayna Daltorio and Sarah Pelini.
Perry 86, Fitch 28
MASSILLON -- Courtney Ingersoll had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead four Panthers (13-3, 5-2) in double figures in a Federal League game. Rachel Rovan had 12 points to lead Fitch (4-13, 0-8).
Canfield 74, Struthers 26
CANFIELD -- Bryanne Halfhill scored 18 points and Melissa West added 16 for Canfield (12-1, 8-0) in a Metro Athletic Conference game.
Ashley Galbraith and Sally Phillips each had nine for Struthers.
Poland 49, Campbell 18
POLAND -- The Poland Bulldogs (8-6, 5-3 MAC) held Campbell to two points in the first quarter, eight in the second and no points in the third to take a 40-10 lead.
Ashley Shuluga scored 12 points for the Bulldogs. Kellee Davis added eight and Jess Porcase had seven.
Lowellville 64, Leetonia 30
LOWELLVILLE -- Kristen Pallozzi had 18 points on six 3-pointers, Ali Grapevine had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Jacque Schrader had 14 points for Lowellville (14-1, 9-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier Two). Jamie Hynes added 11 points and Whitney Palumbo had six assists.
Gina Jones had 17 points for Leetonia (3-12, 1-8).
Louisville 49, West Branch 48
LOUISVILLE -- The Warriors (8-7, 6-4) held a 38-37 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Leopards (13-3, 10-1) rallied 12-10 for the Northeastern Buckeye Conference victory.
Mandy Jaeb sparked the Leopards with a game-high 26 points. The Warriors were paced by Amanda Stiffler with 15 points, while Cassi Snoddy chipped in with 11.
