Epco to pay penaltyin Ohio EPA settlement
BOARDMAN -- A township manufacturer will pay a 45,500 penalty under a settlement with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency over Ohio's air pollution permitting and reporting requirements. Epco Extrusion Painting Co., 413 McClurg Road, was cited with numerous violations for late and incomplete reporting of permit and compliance information. The violations occurred between 1997 and 2005, the OEPA said. Since then, the company has been in compliance, it said. Epco coats aluminum for residential products, such as lighting tracks and picture frames. No one answered calls to the company Friday. Its fine will be used to support an education fund, air pollution control programs and a clean-diesel school bus program.
