Vindy.com seeks reports on potholes

Now that winter has really arrived, Vindy.com is providing an avenue for motorists in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys to report pothole problems.
Go to Vindy.com and click the link under "Community Events" to report locations of potholes. Vindy.com will then keep you updated on problem areas and keep track of what's being done to repair area roads.
State and local road departments and tire companies report that there haven't been may pothole problems because of the mild winter, but there are signs that things could get worse very soon.
Maureen Bachman, public information officer for the Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 in Akron, told Vindy.com that motorists can call (800) 603-1054 to report potholes in Ohio. In Youngstown, call the street department at (330) 744-3179.
If motorists feel they have incurred damage to their vehicle from a pothole, Bachman said they can report the incident and possibly receive compensation. She said drivers can file a claim against the state through the Court of Claims of Ohio. The court can be contacted at (800) 824-8263.
