YOUNGSTOWN -- The 17th annual Dana Showcase Concert will honor Donald W. "Bill" Byo, a mainstay of the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. It will be at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Ford Family Recital Hall.
Byo has been affiliated with Dana for more than a half century. He served as dean and director of the Dana School, director of bands and, since his retirement, teacher of bassoon. He has also been principal bassoonist in the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and the Warren Philharmonic and conductor of the Packard Concert Band.
The concert will feature representatives of all performing ensembles of the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University: Dana Percussion Ensemble, YSU Jazz Ensemble, Dana Symphony Orchestra, Dana Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Dana Chorale and University Chorus, Dana Opera Workshop, Dana Guitar Ensemble and other chamber ensembles and soloists.

Magician to entertainat Trumbull New Theatre
NILES -- Magician Gary Morton will perform at Trumbull New Theatre, 5883 Youngstown-Warren Road, at 3 p.m. Feb. 3.
Morton has been mystifying audiences with magic and illusion for more than 15 years. He specializes in classic magical effects mixed with humor.

Bobby Vinton comingto Westminster College
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Musician, singer and actor Bobby Vinton will come to Westminster College's Orr Auditorium at 8 p.m. Feb. 17.
Vinton, a native of Canonsburg, Pa., has had a string of hits beginning with "Roses Are Red." He has more than a dozen gold records.
