Rushens honored at dinner party on anniversary



AUSTINTOWN -- Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center was the setting Jan. 13 for a dinner party held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Rushen, 4881 Westchester Drive, on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the festivity were the couple's children and their spouses, Pamela and Ivan Croell of Austintown; William and Marilyn Rushen of McDonald; Deborah and Dennis Barnhart of Butler, Pa., and Mary and Kirk Gegick of Wadsworth. The Rushens have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Rushen and the former Helen Noufer were united in marriage Jan. 15, 1947, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. They are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Mrs. Rushen is a homemaker, and Mr. Rushen retired in 1983 as a supervisor with U.S. Steel Co. in Youngstown. They are members of the 55-Plus Club of Mineral Ridge and Austintown Chapter 4339, AARP.
Mr. Rushen served with the U.S. Navy Amphibious Operation from 1944 to 1946 in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations during the invasion of Southern France. He is also is a member of the Knight of Columbus, McDonald Council, and the American Legion Post Ohio 888 in Dayton.
