Woman reports rape

YOUNGSTOWN — A 43-year-old woman said she was attacked and raped as she walked along Oak Hill Avenue on the city’s South Side.

Youngstown police said a man grabbed the woman from behind early Saturday. They said he punched the woman several times before raping her on the side of the road.

Police said the only thing the man said was, “What’s in your purse?” Police said he went through the purse and took the woman’s state identification. He is described as a black male in his 30s, about 170 pounds and 5 feet 10 inches tall.
