Longtime TMHA chair retires today

WARREN — The longtime chairman of the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority retired today.

C. Robert Wyndham was on the TMHA Board of Directors 29 years, 12 of those years as chairman of the board.

Wyndham’s term as chair was the second-longest in TMHA’s history, and was highlighted by unprecedented organizational growth, TMHA Executive Director Donald W. Emerson Jr. said.

"He has provided invaluable expertise and unwavering dedication to the employees, management, residents and the entire community,” he said. “We owe him a considerable debt of gratitude for all of the contributions he has made throughout his distinguished career. He will be sorely missed.”

Wyndham’s tenure was highlighted by organizational growth and three consecutive perfect scores from the administration of Housing and Urban Development’s Housing Choice Voucher Program.

He is a Champion native and World War II veteran. He worked at First Federal Savings and Loan Association, where he served as vice president and treasurer before his retirement in 1986, then worked at Cortland Banks from 1991 to 2001.
