'Jackets' night set at 'Chevy'

The SteelHounds will celebrate their affiliation with the NHL team Saturday.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown SteelHounds will celebrate their affiliation with the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday at the Chevrolet Centre.
The SteelHounds are calling Saturday's game against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs as "Columbus Blue Jackets Night." Face-off is set for 7:05 p.m.
Fans will be treated to double giveaways -- Columbus Blue Jackets baseball hats and the first of two sets of SteelHounds trading cards (courtesy of Hess Printing) given to the first 1,000 fans through the doors.
A second set of trading cards will be given away Feb. 10 when the SteelHounds again will take on the Mudbugs.
Players in the first set of trading cards are Chris Richards, Mark Johnson, Shaun Landolt, Tab Lardner, Stephen Margeson, Brad Patterson, Brad Roberts, Kelly Sickavish and Jason Spence.
"Stinger" to be on hand
Making an appearance at Saturday's game will be Blue Jackets mascot "Stinger." Following the game, there will be a post-game autograph session featuring the SteelHounds.
Friday, the first 1,000 fans through the door of the SteelHounds-Mudbugs game will receive a "Rally Towel" courtesy of the SteelHounds Booster Club.
The SteelHounds just finished a 14-day, six-game road trip . They defeated the defending Central Hockey League champion Laredo Bucks, 4-1, Saturday.
That victory helped removed the sting from losses to Mudbugs and Corpus Christi Rayz.
Youngstown ended the road trip at 2-3-1 and is 16-11-7 with 39 points for third place in the Northeast Division.
'Hounds in all-star game
Captain Jeff Christian and line mate Richards are in Louisiana as they will start for the Northern Conference in tonight's 2007 Dodge CHL All Star Game from the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City.
For Christian, this will be his second straight all star appearance while Richards will be making his fourth with his third different team. Richards has been an all star with Austin and New Mexico during his CHL career.
It took 13 games but Saturday night saw the presence from Mark Odut that SteelHounds coach Kevin Kaminski was looking for when he signed him in December. Odut scored twice against the Bucks.
Odut, who played for the coach while with the Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League, only had three assists in his stay with the SteelHounds before Saturday's game.
