Holden propels Kennedy



Will Johnson scored 16 points for Wilson in a 63-52 defeat to Kennedy Catholic.
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Marsell Holden had 17 points and five assists Tuesday to spark the Kennedy Catholic High basketball team to a 63-52 victory over Woodrow Wilson High.
Blair Rozenblad had 16 points with five rebounds as the Golden Eagles outscored the Redmen in the third quarter, 14-7.
Kyle Randall added eight points and five assists and Ramiel Hayes five rebounds to aid the Golden Eagles.
Will Johnson tallied 16 points while Lamar McQueen and Montel Scott added 12 apiece for Wilson, which made 22-for-42 from the field.
Poland 60, East Liverpool 40
POLAND -- Ben Umbel scored 14 points and had eight steals.
Chris Lovell added 12 points and six rebounds and Lou Coppola 12 points to lead Poland (9-1, 5-1 Metro Athletic Conference), which canned 24-for-39 from the field.
Donnie Green registered 18 points and Joey Wines 12 for East Liverpool (1-9, 1-5 MAC), which sank only 13-for-43 from the floor.
Canfield 75, Salem 35
CANFIELD -- Canfield got scoring from 11 players and built a 44-13 lead by the break.
Joe Carbon scored eight of his 21 points in the second quarter and Matt Firestone added 11 points for the Cardinals (8-2, 4-1 MAC).
Greg Wollman scored 10 points for the Quakers (1-9, 1-4 MAC).
Struthers 41, Howland 38
STRUTHERS -- Josh Vlosich and Matt Wilson hit back-to-back goals to pull Struthers from a 38-37 deficit to the win.
Vlosich, who scored the go-ahead basket, finished with eight points while Wilson had 10.
Matt Kukura had 13 points to lead Struthers (6-4, 2-3 MAC). Vlosich led the team in rebounds.
Nathan Cope and Tyler Scott each hit 10 points to lead Howland (3-7, 2-3 MAC) while Kyle Spence added nine.
West Branch 47, Carrollton 34
BELOIT -- West Branch, who limited Carrollton to two points in the second quarter, put the game out of reach 37-21 by the end of the third period.
Kyle Rockwell scored 20 points and grabbed rebounds for the Warriors in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference game.
Steve Mc & Ntilde;eely added eight points and had six assists.
