Boardman clobbers Blackhawk, 93-50



Fitch rallied from a halftime deficit for a win over Chaney.
BOARDMAN -- Courtney Schiffauer and Darryce Moore combined for 50 points in leading the Boardman High girls basketball team to a 93-50 victory over Blackhawk Tuesday in the Spartans' gymnasium.
The Spartans (12-1) dominated from the start and held a commanding 48-24 lead at intermission. They also had a 48-32 rebounding advantage.
Schiffauer scored 31 points had 16 assists and four steals. Moore scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
Monica Touvelle chipped in with 17 points and four steals. Katie Fiffick had four steals.
Beth Deluca led Blackhawk (3-14) with 16 points
Fitch 54, Chaney 47
YOUNGSTOWN -- Chaney's 31-24 halftime lead evaporated as the Cowgirls were outscored in the third quarter, 19-1.
In the third, Fitch made 15 of 20 free throws.
Kayla Hanuschak had a game-high 17 points for the Falcons, who converted 21 of 33 free throws for the game.
Alyssa Sykes, Chaney's sophomore point guard, had a team-high 15 points while Clenisha Ples added 12.
Western Reserve Academy 52,Warren JFK 37
HUDSON -- The Pioneers took a 10-point lead 19-9 in the first quarter and the Eagles (5-7) couldn't get any closer by the end of the contest.
Samantha Brys paced the Eagles with nine points and she grabbed five rebounds and had two assists. Michelle Chaves had five steals.
Kathleen McCallops sparked Western Reserve Academy with 14 points. Elisabeth Beiter chipped in with 10.
Youngstown Christian 42, Cornerstone 24
WILLOUGHBY -- The Eagles' defensive held the Patriots to nine points in the first quarter and four in the second en route to a 23-13 lead by halftime.
Kara Cooper scored 23 points and had 12 steals for the Eagles (5-7, 3-2) in the East Suburban League game.
Vickie Bankhead and Dana Dumas grabbed 12 rebounds apiece.
Ruth Chapman led the Patriots (2-8, 1-4) with 11 points.
