Cope anniversary to be celebrated at open house
LISBON -- Mr. and Mrs. Eli D. Cope, 208 W. Washington St., will be joined by family members and friends as they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church.
Hosts for the event will be their family, Richard and Anita Cope, Steven and Dianna Garofalo, and the couple's four grandchildren.
Mr. Cope and the former Joan Rae Reese were united in marriage Dec. 28, 1956, at the church, which they attend.
Mrs. Cope worked for Nickles 5 & amp;10 and Campanelli's Greenhouse and was a substitute cook for Lisbon School District. She is a member of West Point Ladies Lions Club.
Mr. Cope was employed 17 years at the H.K. Porter Brickyard and for 24 years at General Motors in Lordstown. He has owned Cope's Christmas Tree Farm in Highlandtown for the past 45 years.
Cards and good wishes will be appreciated but the couple request that gifts be omitted.
