Salem school administrators must pay part of health care

SALEM — Administrators in Salem schools are getting a pay raise, but they will have to start paying a portion of their health-care costs.

The move will ultimately cost the district about $6,300 a year, said Superintendent Stephen Larcomb.

The board of education approved the administrative salary schedule today for people in nine positions, including the five principals at the three elementary schools and the combined junior and senior high, the athletic director, and others.

Board members Elizabeth Thatcher, Marguerite Miller and Sean Hart voted in favor of the schedule. Board member Cathy Hergenrother voted against it.
