Girard police probe teen party

GIRARD — Police are again investigating a juvenile party involving alcohol that sent one teen boy to the hospital.

Police reports say officers were called to a home in the 500 block of South St. Clair Street. Once at the home, officers found a 15- or 16-year old boy “rolling about a snowbank and retching.” The boy was taken to Forum Health Northside Medical Center.

Police reports say officers interviewed the homeowner, who said that he was sleeping but that he knew his son was having friends over for the evening.

The man, reports said, heard a commotion and discovered about 40 kids in his basement — some of whom he discovered had been drinking.

Police identified 32 juveniles and young adults who were at the residence.

Police and school officials recently dealt with a New Year’s Eve drinking party that sent a Girard High School girl to the hospital in an unconscious state. School officials have implemented programs to try to combat the situation.
