Austintown man gets $690,000 on $2 million lotto ticket

AUSTINTOWN — A 52-year-old ironworker from Austintown won a lottery scratch-off game with a $2 million prize.

John J. Duffy of Bowman Avenue received $690,000 after federal and state taxes.

Duffy selected the option of receiving a lump-sum payment, which means he got only $1 million before taxes. His other option was to receive $100,000 a year for 20 years before taxes.
