Bazetta mom accusedof driving over son twice
BAZETTA -- A Bazetta Township woman is in police custody, after being accused of running over her son with a vehicle twice Saturday night.
Bazetta police arrested Tereasa J. Ross, of 290 Johnson Plank Road, on a charge of felonious assault.
Details of the case are still being investigated, but it appears that Ross and her son were arguing around 7:34 p.m. when he was run over twice in the driveway of her home, according to a report from the Trumbull County 911 Center.
The age and identity of her son were not available Sunday night, but he was taken to St. Joseph Health Center for treatment.
Village plans open house
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Renovations to the administration building will be displayed when the village has an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. March 10. The building, 10711 Main St., was renovated after the room formerly used by the library became vacant. The library recently got its own building on Main Street. The library's old quarters have been transformed into a police department, and other offices and restrooms have been renovated.
Pond-stocking fish sale
CORTLAND -- The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District will have its annual spring pond-stocking fish sale at 2:30 p.m. March 29 near the SWCD office, 520 West Main St. Orders will be accepted through March 23. The sale will feature bass, bluegill, catfish, perch and minnows ranging from 5 cents to 85 cents each. White amurs (grass carp) are also available at 13 each. White amurs are used for pond vegetation control.
The Trumbull SWCD assists property owners with pond and vegetation issues throughout the year and assists landowners on construction of recreation and aesthetic ponds. The fish will be ready for pickup at the Mosquito Lake parking area just west of the SWCD offices. Grant for Help Hotline
Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. was awarded an 8,000 grant from The Ridgecliff Foundation of Fairview Park. This will help cover the cost of operating two peer support projects: WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) and BRIDGES (Building Recovery of Individual Dreams and Goals through Education and Support). Both programs are held in Mahoning and Trumbull counties and are funded by the Mahoning County Mental Health Board and Trumbull Lifelines. They are based on the belief that people with mental illness recover with a new and valued sense of self and purpose, and focus on recovery to prevent relapse.
