Vows renewed by Santangelos on anniversary
YOUNGSTOWN -- In celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Santangelo, 128 Mill Run Drive, renewed their marriage vows Jan. 27 during a 5 p.m. Mass celebrated by Monsignor Michael Cariglio and were honored afterward during a party at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Center.
Invitations for the festivities were issued by their family, Pamela and Rudy Byce and Mary Jo and Michael Margala, all of Hubbard, and Vincent Santangelo of Youngstown, and the couple's five grandchildren.
Immaculate Conception Church was the setting on Jan. 26, 1957, as the former Mildred Fusillo and Mr. Santangelo were united in marriage. They are members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mrs. Santangelo was employed in the bakery at Santisi Sparkle Markets for 17 years and in the bakery at Giant Eagle for four years prior to retiring in 1994.
Mr. Santangelo served in the military during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. He was employed from 1946 to 1967 at Genessee Distributing and from 1967 to 1991 as a manager for Bankers Life Insurance Co. Since 1991 he has been self-employed with Safe-ti-Co Environmental Inc.
