Westminster falls in PAC title game

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- Megan Wood scored 16 points, Kristen Humphrey added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Brooke Warner had 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead Thomas More to a 59-50 victory over Westminster in the championship game of the Presidents' Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament Saturday.
The Saints (22-4), defeating Westminster for the third time this season, led 16-6 midway through the first half and 29-18 at the intermission. The Titans (22-6) closed to 54-50 with 1:04 remaining on a 3-pointer by Desiree Sterling, but Thomas More went 5-of-6 at the foul line to secure the win.
Emilee Ackerman led the Titans with 16 points on 7-of-12, while Sterling (Newton Falls) and Rachel Martinko added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Denison 63, Allegheny 47
GRANVILLE -- Kristen Sheffield, Tammy Hoch and Sarah Perrine scored 13 points each for Denison in the championship game of the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament.
Carolyn Sampson added 10 points for the Big Red (24-4), who earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year.
Katie Kestler scored 17 points to lead Allegheny (19-8), while Stephanie Wolf scored 11 points. Jennifer Latronica had seven points and 10 rebounds, but was held to 3-for-11 shooting from the field.
Wilmington 89, Capital 72
WILMINGTON -- Katie Streck scored 25 points and had 14 rebounds, both game-highs, to lead Wilmington in the Ohio Athletic Conference championship game.
Kelly Peters added 17 points for the Quakers (24-4), who led 51-27 at halftime and shot 54.4 percent (31-of-57) for the game.
Erica Smith and Gina Hyle added 12 points each for Wilmington, while Jackie Hauke scored 10. Sam Hood had six points and 12 assists.
Capital (20-7) was led by Kristen Richardson's 17 points and 13 each by Caitlin Elsass and Ralphie Beal.
Men
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Shawn Carr scored 19 points to lead Grove City, the fourth seed, to the championship of the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
Carr also had 12 rebounds for the Wolverines (16-12), who earned the PAC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Ryan Gibson added 16 points for Grove City, which outscored W & amp;J 33-28 in the second half.
The Presidents (14-14) were led by Brandon Studer with 18 points. Josip Lucic-Jozak added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Scott Oklin scored 10 points.
Capital 78, John Carroll 73
BEXLEY -- Steve Kyser scored 18 points to lead Capital to the championship of the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Quinton Mitchell added 12 points, and Ross Niekamp finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Crusaders (18-8), who earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Brandon Mimes scored 34 points for John Carroll (19-8) to lead all scorers. He also had eight rebounds. Terry Walsh added 15 points for the Blue Streaks.
