Smoking complaint lodged at firehouse

WARREN – Fire Chief Ken Nussle says he will be contacting the Ohio Department of Health in an attempt to get more information about a complaint of smoking in his department.

The city received a letter Tuesday from the ODH informing it that a complaint has been filed with the state, alleging the fire department has violated Ohio’s smoking ban.

”We have no absolutely no idea where it occurred,” Nussle said Thursday.

The department has three fire stations and a maintenance facility. The ODH letter says the complaint involves an ashtray being seen and smoke “infiltrating,” but doesn’t specify where.
