DeMartes mark 65th anniversary at party in Georgia



SHARPSBURG, Ga. -- The 65th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel DeMarte, 1378 Palmetto-Tyrone Road, formerly of the Youngstown area, was celebrated during a party held Feb. 3 at Carrabba's in Peachtree City, Ga.
Invitations for the event were extended by their son, Dominic DeMarte of Clearwater, Fla., and daughter, Patti DeMarte Head of Sharpsburg, with whom they have made their home since 2004.
The couple have another daughter, Janice DeMarte of California, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The former Julia Ross and Mr. DeMarte were united in marriage Jan. 31, 1942, at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. They are members of St. Matthews Church in Tyrone, Ga.
Mr. DeMarte, a World War II Army veteran, was a machinist with Falcon Foundry in Lowellville prior to retiring in 1989. He is also a member of the Eagles 3526. Mrs. DeMarte is a homemaker.
