Radio auction planned by Downtown Kiwanis



Education and leadership projects for area youths will be supported by proceeds from the event.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Plans are being finalized by Downtown Youngstown Kiwanis for its 53rd annual Downtown Kiwanis Radio Auction to be broadcast March 29 by WNIO 1390-AM.
The auction will be held at Clear Channel Communications in Boardman and will feature on-air bidding from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Bids will be accepted for such items as tickets to a Scrappers games, putting at Tamer Win Golf Course, a spa pedicure at Tips to Toes, a hot stone massage with Shelli Delsignore, an oil change at Goodyear Service Store, a nugget tray from Chick-fil-A, or selected canines from Petland in Boardman.
Reap the benefits
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Downtown Kiwanis Community and Youth Service Fund, which helps the youth of the Youngstown area through financial contributions to such organizations as Junior Achievement, Boys and Girls Club, Rich Center for Autism and Youngstown City Schools programs.
According to Gary Winslow, auction chairman, the goal for this year's auction is to raise of 60,000 in retail items with a bid return of 30,000.
