Jeff Neubauer (La Salle) is 31-25 in his second season with the Colonels.Notes: The Penguins rebounded from one of their worst shooting games at Green Bay with one of their best Wednesday night against Detroit. The Penguins shot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range, including 63 percent from behind the arc in the second half in their 82-70 victory. Senior Quin Humphrey topped 30 points for the second time this season when he scored 36 points on 12-of-18 shooting, 8-of-12 from 3-point range, while senior Keston Roberts added 19 points. The Penguins trail the overall series against Eastern Kentucky 7-8, but the two teams haven't played since the Penguins left the Ohio Valley Conference. The last meetings were in 1987-88 when the Colonels swept the Penguins 83-77 at YSU and 83-55 at home. YSU's last wins in the series came in 1985-86 when they swept the Colonels 67-54 at EKU and 75-69 at Beeghly. The Colonels come into the game on a seven-game winning streak including a 63-57 win over Jacksonville State on Thursday night.Next: YSU will play its third straight home contest when it entertains Horizon League leader Wright State in a 7:05 p.m. contest at Beeghly Center, the final regular season home game for the Penguins.

YSU had a couple of second half defensive lapses that enabled the Phoenix to pull away and record its 17th straight victory, 11-0 in the Horizon League. Junior Heather Karner came off the bench to spark the Penguins with 17 points. UW-Milwaukee has struggled of late losing its last two games including a 57-54 loss at Cleveland State on Thursday night. The Panthers defeated the Penguins 60-44 back on Jan. 18 in Milwaukee and lead the series 12-5 including wins in the last three meetings with the Penguins.Up next: The Penguins will play at Cleveland State next Saturday as part of a men's and women's doubleheader. The women will play the Vikings at 3 p.m., while the men will follow at 5:30 p.m.
