BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY
Cathan Bricller of Youngstown will participate in the 2007 Bowling Green Dance Marathon on March 24 and 25 to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. It's a 32-hour event that has raised more than 1.6 million over the past 11 years. Bricller is a sophomore journalism major and serves on the marathon's letter-writing campaign committee. She also participated in the 2006 marathon. She is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and the daughter of Christina and John Malcomson.
JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY, Cleveland
J. Matthew Hiznay, son of Jim and Mandie Hiznay of Poland, has been elected president of the Class of 2010 at John Carroll. Hiznay, a chemistry major, is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
HARTWICK COLLEGE, ONEONTO, N.Y.
Elliott Watts of Poland, a junior anthropology major, is participating in the January Term Off-Campus Program "Culture, History and Ecology of South Africa." The course begins at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and then moves to rural areas to allow students to experience African culture, wildlife and natural beauty. Watts is a member of Alpha Delta Omega and is involved in the Ski Club at Hartwick.
MOUNT UNION COLLEGE, ALLIANCE, Ohio
Alex Kubli of Canfield, a senior English major, has been selected as the Preview and Orientation Student Coordinator at Mount Union College. The program's staff members are able to answer questions, share experiences and help provide a smooth transition for incoming students into the Mount Union College community.
ASHLAND UNIVERSITY, ASHLAND, Ohio
Michael Hartz of Youngstown and Keona Padgett of Cortland are members of the Young Democrats at Ashland University. Hartz has been named public relations chairman for the organization. He is the son of Gregory and Teresita Hartz and is majoring in electronic media production. Padgett is the daughter of Anthony and Cherrie Padgett and is majoring in political science.
