Damascus Ruritanfundraiser extended
DAMASCUS -- Due to the inclement weather, the Damascus Ruritan fundraising ham dinner at Country Caf & eacute; Restaurant, state Route 62, will be held every day through Feb. 28. Serving will be from 4 to 8 p.m. weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.
The cost is 9 for adults, 4.50 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under. Carryouts will be available.
Dinner is benefitfor area animals
YOUNGSTOWN -- Animal Charity, a nonprofit organization, will hold a fundraiser titled "For the Love of Animals" from 7 to 11 p.m. Feb. 23 at Cedar's Caf & eacute;, 131 W. Commerce St. Tickets are 55 a couple, 30 a person or 240 for a sponsorship table of eight.
There will be a buffet dinner, cash bar, entertainment, a Chinese auction and a 50-50 raffle. Proceeds will help fund the organization's humane and wildlife rehabilitation departments. For more ticket information call (330) 788-1064.
Luminarie Dayscheduled in Girard
GIRARD -- Mayor James Melfi has declared April 15 will be "Luminarie Day" in Girard. Luminaries can be purchased at St. Rose Parish House from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 8:30 to noon on Wednesdays from March 25 to April 13.
All area churches and businesses are invited to participate in the event.
The names of all St. Rose Church members who are remembered with a luminarie will be read at a special Mass at noon April 15 at the church.

Think spring
CORTLAND -- Organizers have begun planning for At the Garden 2007, an arts and crafts festival that will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 at the Trumbull County Agricultural and Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St.
In addition to featuring the work of artists and craftsmen, the Trumbull County Master Gardeners will sell perennials and other plants. Antique vendors are welcome to participate.
