10 arrests made by city's Special Interdiction Patrol
YOUNGSTOWN — Take a “SIP” of this.
The mayor’s zero-tolerance effort to fight crime, now dubbed Special Interdiction Patrol, or SIP, had police out on icy roads enforcing traffic laws and serving warrants.
Reports for a 12-hour period from Valentine’s Day afternoon Wednesday to early today show 10 arrests made, including two for drug possession and four for driving under suspension. In one arrest, an Austintown woman admitted she had crack cocaine in her possession and had a crack pipe with a rock of cocaine inside it.
