Storm warning extended in Mahoning and Trumbull


The National Weather Service has extended a winter storm warning for Mahoning and Trumbull counties until 4 p.m. today. The original warning was for 4 a.m. Tuesday until noon today.

There is no longer a warning for Columbiana County.

The service’s warning for Mahoning and Trumbull states snow will taper to flurries late this afternoon, but considerable blowing and drifting snow will continue because of strong winds. Visibility will be near zero at times during the day. An inch or two of more snow is expected, according to the warning.

The winds will diminish by this evening but a blowing snow advisory may be issued if the winds don’t die down. Temperatures will be in the teens and wind chills will be near 0 degrees this afternoon.
