State employees in Mahoning stay home

The Ohio Department of Public Safety declared a weather emergency for nonessential state employees in 49 counties, including Mahoning, because of the weather. Nonessential personnel who work or live in the counties shouldn’t report to work today. The order is effective until 5 p.m. today.

State employees in Trumbull and Columbiana counties had to report to work today as usual even though the snowfall in those counties was about the same as in Mahoning.
