F.N.B. CORP. Legacy Bank acquisition added 8 branches in Pa.

HERMITAGE, Pa. -- F.N.B. Corp. last year completed the acquisition of Legacy Bank in Harrisburg.
The deal added eight branches to First National Bank of Pennsylvania, a subsidiary of Hermitage-based F.N.B.
Legacy Bank was recognized as the recipient of the Small Business Administration's 2006 National Small 7(a) U.S. SBA Lender of the Year. Nationally, Legacy was judged best bank in the areas of community involvement, customer service and loan growth.
"With this merger, F.N.B. Corp. has extended its footprint into an excellent growth region," said Stephen J. Gurgovits, F.N.B. president and chief executive. "Our presence in the Harrisburg market, combined with our moves in Pittsburgh and Florida, will contribute to our ability to grow organically."
Last year and early this year, First National opened three more loan offices in Florida, giving it five overall. It also opened a new office in downtown Pittsburgh. First National operates more than 150 branches in Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio.
