Comdoc: Independent company is 100% employee-owned

LIBERTY -- ComDoc, an independent provider of document management solutions, recently became 100 percent employee-owned.
The transition in ownership achieved the long-term goal of founder Walter Griffith and his family. Previously, employees owned 42 percent of the company under an Employee Stock Ownership Plan established in 1985. The sale transfers the remaining 58 percent to the ESOP.
ComDoc has sales in excess of 100 million. Riley Lochridge is chairman and chief executive.
In 1955, Griffith founded ComDoc in Akron, where its headquarters remain. There are 12 sales offices including one in Liberty.
ComDoc is Ricoh's largest independent copier, printer and fax dealer in the United States. ComDoc also sells and services Sharp products.
