Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, bridge at 1 and Spanish review at 3; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, and digital club at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, piano lessons, at 9 a.m., watercolor class at 10, computer at 10 a.m. and noon, Tai Chi at noon, and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; and Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., DJ Stitchers at 10; exercise at noon, square dancing and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. On June 5 and 6 there will be a watercolor workshop with Sis Solar and Tom McNicle from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call the center for information or reservations for the Traveling Social Worker program. SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 8273 High St. N.E., Warren, will resume free public meetings of the Genealogy on the Web Club at 10 a.m. Jan. 9 with Kay Brady as instructor. Also from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Jan 9 there will be lunch and a lecture by Emily Varner, Trumbull County archivist. Participants will learn to retrieve and research family trees through county offices. Lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, salad and pineapple upside down cake will cost $5. Among the special events scheduled by SCOPE are an Alaska slide show at 1 p.m. Jan. 23; a Mexico cruise on Feb. 23; and a Philadelphias Home and Flower Show on March 3.
