SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — Chris Warren scored 17 points, Dwayne Curtis added 15 and Mississippi set a school record for consecutive wins to start the season. Warren started two runs that helped Ole Miss hold off streaky Southern Miss (8-5), 78-58 including a personal 7-1 run that straddled halftime and featured a 3-pointer from 30 feet as time expired in the first half. Ole Miss held Southern Miss without a point in the final 61⁄2 minutes to break open an entertaining back-and-forth game. The Rebels’ 12th straight win set the school record for consecutive victories to start the season. The Rebels started the 1936-37 and 2000-01 seasons with 11 straight wins. Both years, the Rebels finished with 20 or more victories. The win also tied the school record for consecutive wins in a season, set in 1926.

No. 25 Rhode Island 92, E. Michigan 75

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Will Daniels and Jimmy Baron scored 18 points apiece to lead Rhode Island over Eastern Michigan in the Islander Invitational. The muscular 6-foot-8 Daniels did most of his damage inside for the Rams (12-1), who were playing their first game as a Top 25 team since the 1998-99 season. Baron scored from the outside, making 4 of 9 attempts from beyond the 3-point line. Eastern Michigan (4-5), which has lost four of its past five games, was led by Zane Gay’s 12 points. Carlos Medlock and Jesse Bunkley chipped in 10 apiece for the Eagles. Eastern Michigan’s hot shooting from behind the arc kept the Eagles in the game for much of the first half. Rhode Island went into the half up 51-41, and Eastern Michigan never got closer than seven the rest of the way. Eastern Michigan’s hot shooting disappeared after halftime. After shooting nearly 54 percent from the field in the first half, the Eagles struggled to a 9-for-25 performance in the second.

No. 13 Duke 84, Houston 68

HOUSTON — Joy Cheek had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Duke. Cheek scored eight points during a 16-0 run that spanned both halves and turned a close game into a 49-27 lead with 19 minutes remaining. Duke (10-3) never led by fewer than 13 after that. Chante Black added 12 points and Jasmine Thomas 11 for Duke. Twiggy McIntyre led Houston (5-8) with 13 points. Tye Jackson had 12 points and nine assists, but also had seven of Houston’s 20 turnovers.

No. 15 Auburn 66, Davidson 59

PHILADELPHIA — Freshman Alli Smalley scored 15 points and Sherell Hobbs added 12 to help Auburn hold off Davidson in the Saint Joseph’s Hawk Classic. DeWanna Bonner added nine points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers (12-1). Danielle Hemerka scored 13 points and Honna Housley added 11 for the Wildcats (6-5). With the game tied at 46 midway through the second half, the Tigers went on a 10-1 run capped by Hobbs’ layup with 5:03 left to give Auburn a 56-47 lead.

Middle Tennessee 67, No. 8 LSU 56

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Amber Holt scored a career-high 41 points and added nine rebounds to help Middle Tennessee upset LSU. Holt finished one shy of the school record for most points in a game, which was set by Kim Webb in 1987 against Eastern Kentucky. The senior guard finished 15-for-25 from the floor for Middle Tennessee (7-5), which snapped the Lady Tigers’ (9-3) six-game winning streak. Allison Hightower led LSU with 13 points, and Quianna Chaney added 11 points and six rebounds.

No. 14 Texas A&M 69, Texas-Arlington 55

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Danielle Gant had 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals to help Texas A&M beat Texas-Arlington. Takia Starks had 13 points and Patrice Reado added 12 for the Aggies (10-2), who finished with 15 steals, including three by Starks. They forced the Mavericks into 35 turnovers, including 11 by Shalyn Martin and 10 by Tamara Simmons. Texas A&M’s pressure defense helped it overcome Texas-Arlington’s 40-33 rebounding edge. Maryann Abanobi, Erin Dixon and Martin grabbed eight rebounds apiece for the Mavericks (5-5), and Tiffeny Riles added seven.

No. 23 Old Dominion 71, Kentucky 62

LEXINGTON, Ky. — T.J. Jordan scored 22 points and Old Dominion won for the fifth time in six games. Forward Tiffany Green scored five of the final seven points for the Lady Monarchs (8-3) and finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Sarah Elliott led Kentucky (4-7) with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Amber Smith added 11 points. The Wildcats have lost three straight.

No. 24 Oklahoma St. 83, Oral Roberts 65

STILLWATER, Okla. — Danielle Green scored a season-high 22 points, Andrea Riley added 19 points and Oklahoma State beat Oral Roberts for its 22nd straight nonconference home win. The Cowgirls (11-1) used a late first-half run to build a 16-point halftime lead despite a slow start by Riley, and led by double figures throughout the second half. Janae Voelker scored a career-best 23 points and Jenny Hardin added 17 for the Golden Eagles (7-5).
