A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Girard and Liberty:
HUBBARD
Dec. 21
Theft: Vicodin tablets were removed from a building in the 30 block of Timber Circle Drive.
Burglary: A woman called 911 to report a door open at her mother’s Westview Drive home. Police found that someone had entered.
Dec. 22
Fraud: A worker for Rite Aid Pharmacy, 147 W. Liberty St., called police after a man presented a phony prescription to obtain oxycodone.
Dec. 24
Possible drugs: A South Main Street man found a suspicious pill in his yard, possibly tossed from a vehicle that was in a nearby accident.
Theft: A Hillview Drive woman reported a man kept and refused to return a coat.
GIRARD
Dec. 24
Burglary: After the owner of a vacant South Davis Street residence reported a suspicious van in the driveway, police entered the home and discovered damage to several walls as well as paneling. Copper piping and a hot water tank were missing.
Aggravated menacing: A Youngstown woman alleged an intoxicated friend drove and crashed a vehicle with her in it, and threatened to kill the accuser if she told anyone. The car was returned to an East Liberty Street home.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An East Liberty Street woman reported a man took her 1995 Ford Windstar without permission, and that the vehicle was in an accident in Youngstown.
Assault: A witness told officers two men were in a fight at a Christmas party in the 700 block of North State Street. One of the combatants said he was punched in the nose.
Dec. 25
Aggravated menacing: A South Davis Street woman alleged a Mineral Ridge man threatened to kill her during an argument about their daughter.
Dec. 26
Criminal trespassing: After getting a report of someone hiding at an East Kline Street residence, officers arrested a 39-year-old Hubbard man on a criminal-trespassing charge. The homeowner said the man was not supposed to be on the property.
LIBERTY
Dec. 21
Threats: A worker for Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, told police a 14-year-old client threatened to kill two people regarding the teen’s father.
Dec. 22
Criminal damaging: A Hubbard man found several scratches on his vehicle’s paint after coming out of a Belmont Avenue store.
Theft: An employee with Fire Foe Corp., 999 Trumbull Ave., discovered someone had cut a lock to a gate before taking a $5,500, 16-inch trailer.
Theft/criminal damaging: A Niles man left a Belmont Avenue business and found a broken window to his car. Stolen were a savings book, two digital cameras, a credit card and other items.
Drugs: A traffic stop in the 3600 block of Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man, no city listed, on a charge of drug abuse.
Dec. 23
Arrest: After receiving a tip about a wanted person in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue, authorities arrested a man, no information given. He was picked up on a charge of drug trafficking.
Criminal mischief: A Church Hill-Hubbard Road woman reported eggs were tossed at her vehicle.
Dec. 24
Breaking and entering: A surveillance camera showed a man breaking the glass to a side door and entering USA Gas Mart, 2904 Belmont Ave. Fifty-five cartons of cigarettes were stolen.
Dec. 25
Criminal damaging: A Niles man found a tire to his car was punctured while he was in the 4700 block of Logan Gate Road.
Dec. 26
Theft: A Youngstown woman discovered a credit card missing after leaving a Belmont Avenue business, and that someone tried to use it to withdraw $60 via an automated teller machine.
Arrest: A 24-year-old Hermitage, Pa., man wanted on a felony warrant from the township was arrested at a Belmont Avenue motel.
