Yung Joc fails to show up
to answer gun charge

CLEVELAND — Rap performer Yung Joc failed to show up at his arraignment Wednesday on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon and was considered a fugitive, a prosecutor said. Jasiel Robinson, 27, of Atlanta, who performs as Yung Joc, was accused of attempting to take a loaded gun onto a Delta Air Lines flight Sunday and was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, police said. Cuyahoga County assistant prosecutor Gayle Williams said Robinson was considered a fugitive and she planned to request a warrant for him. Robinson’s attorney, Stanley Jackson Jr., was apologetic and said Robinson was out of town on personal and family obligations. Jackson has said his client maintains his innocence. Robinson was arrested early Sunday at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport at a standard security checkpoint as he was heading to a departing flight. Police found a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition in his carryon bag. He told police he did not know the weapon was there and was released Monday on $50,000 bond.

Jack drew on experience
for ‘Bucket List’ role

LOS ANGELES — Jack Nicholson says he drew on his own experience in the hospital for his new film, “The Bucket List.” Nicholson and Morgan Freeman co-star as cancer patients who decide to travel the world following their wish list of things to do before they die. The film, a Warner Bros. release, was directed by Rob Reiner. “A lot of this movie was informed by my being not what I thought I would be, an excellent patient, but rather a poor one,” Nicholson told reporters recently, according to AP Radio. “That happened by coincidence just before this movie,” Nicholson, 70, said. “Nothing as frightening as what these fellows had to go through.” The actor has said he was in the hospital for a procedure that wasn’t life-threatening. Freeman, also 70, said one of the things on his bucket list was working with Nicholson. “He’s a prince of a man. Wonderful to work with. Very, very professional, otherwise he wouldn’t be where he is,” Freeman said.
