Vandalism at West Side home

YOUNGSTOWN — A 40-year-old West Side man who spent the night at his mother’s to avoid further argument with his live-in girlfriend returned to his South Osborne Avenue home Wednesday to find the f-word had been burned into the living room carpet, police said.

A photo was taken of the damage. Lighter fluid and a lighter found near the carpet was taken as evidence. The case was turned over to detectives and the fire department’s arson bureau.
