RETURNS, GIFT CARDS

RETURNS, GIFT CARDS

Tips

Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann advises:

Check with the store before trying to make a return. Some stores give store credit, cash refunds, merchandise exchanges or may have a no-return policy.

Ask about returns with or without a receipt.

Gift cards cannot be sold with an expiration date that is less than two years from the date the gift card was issued.

The total value of the card is not permitted to be reduced within two years of purchase.

A gift card sold without an expiration date is valid until redeemed or replaced.

There are exceptions to these rules.
